Oh no, that picture of me looks awful. My name is Nick and I am not so serious, dumb or mean like my picture might make you think. I just hate my picture taken. I am over four years old, have long legs and weigh 60 pounds. I came to the rescue after being found and taken to a public shelter. I had to sit there and wait for my family to claim me. As you can see they didn't but the rescue came and claimed me as their family. That saved my life because I tested positive for heartworms caused by a mosquito bite and I would have died with out treatment.
So the treatment went like this, I took some medicine for a month and then they put these painful injections in me. The worst part was I had to be quiet for four weeks so I stayed in a crate and walked on a leash to potty. I went back to the doctor, got another treatment an he said more weeks of quiet time. Finally I am over that and can run free again. I love to check out the yard, am housetrained and leash trained. I have a big deep warning bark so I can take care of my family. I love family. My coat is long and needs to be brushed every so often. I have not really played with other dogs because of my illness and I do bark at them when I am in the crate. That doesn't mean I don't like them but I am not sure. I guess we would have to meet.
